Our Story

The Davis family has operated H.L Moe since 1964, having bought the company from Herb Moe, who had operated it successfully since it’s beginning in 1927.

What started out as a small family business has grown to become one of the most respected plumbing companies in Southern California. We’ve received local awards for our service and today have close to 190 dedicated employees.

Moe’s service capabilities were greatly expanded in 2000 with the addition of John K. Keefe – a mainstay on Los Angeles’ Westside since 1940. In August, 2000, Burt Plumbing, a Hollywood fixture since 1920, was added to the Keefe operation. Keefe provides residential, commercial and industrial plumbing services to the residents of Beverly Hills, West L.A., Hollywood, Bel Air, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and surrounding communities. The service area was expanded again in December of 2006 with the acquisition of C. “Herb” Berger Plumbing Service, located in Santa Monica. C. “Herb” Berger was founded in 1924.

As our reputation has grown, so has our service. What started as a small plumbing contractor has now blossomed into an industry leader in plumbing construction and service.  Leading the way is Moe’s Construction Division, a new dynamic in the plumbing business. With the Construction Division we’re now able to offer our customers major ground-up plumbing construction services for everything from hospitals, university science buildings, restaurants, and more. Recent projects have included The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Los Robles Hospital’s expansion, and the remodel on Griffith Park Observatory.

Today, there is no job large or small, residential, commercial, or industrial that we can’t handle. Moe has become the one-stop plumbing company that hundreds of area businesses and homes turn to for their plumbing needs for repair, service, and sales.
