Moe Plumbing Feeds Ficus to Furry Friends from L.A. Zoo

/

undefinedThe Los Angeles Zoo has been experiencing a shortage of ficus leaves recently. Ficus leaves are a popular treat for the gorillas and giraffes on zoo grounds. As a result, the zoo has been visiting neighboring residents and businesses to harvest ficus leaves so our furry friends can feast on their favorite foliage.

At Moe Plumbing Services, we are happy to share our stock of ficus leaves with our neighbors at the L.A. Zoo. We say “Hakuna Matata” when it comes to supporting our animal friends, as they are always welcome at Moe Plumbing Services to an extra helping of some ficus salad to tide over their cravings.

Did You Know?

The west lowland gorilla (scientific name: Gorilla gorilla gorilla) is a critically endangered species that is indigenous to the lowlands and swamp forests of Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and Angola. They are herbivores, mainly eating plants such as ficus leaves.

The Masai giraffe (scientific name: Giraffa Camelopardalis tippelskirchi) is indigenous to the East African Savannahs of Kenya and Tanzania. They can spend 16 to 20 hours munching on plantlife, bark, flowers, and fruit – including the leaves of the ficus tree. It’s no wonder the zoo has been harvesting ficus leaves from the surrounding area!
